The fourteenth
Annual Oxford Sacred Harp Singing Day was held on Saturday before the fourth
Sunday in June. Chairman Sheila Girling Macadam called the class to order at
10:00 a.m. leading 34b, and Bernard Collard offered the opening prayer. The

Reginald Girling--Cambuslang, Glasgow; Gladys Girling--Cambuslang, Glasgow; Earl
Scruggs--USA; Dave Parry--East Hanney; and Ben Green--Coleford. Sheila Girling
Macadam led 500 in their memory. Bernard then asked the class if there was a
phone call to be made, a letter to be written, a hospital visit to make for
someone in need of support. Joe Vickers read the names of the following sick
and housebound: Elspeth Hannen--Amersham; Charlotte and Don Walker--Virginia;
Dafydd Charles--Croydon; Richard Green--Stevenage; Ken Baddley--Bedford; and Ann
Plant--Benthall. Pat Keating led 107 and the memorial was closed.
The class

Announcements were made and invitations extended to other Sacred Harp singing
events around the country. Sheila Girling Macadam and Edwin Macadam thanked all
the officers, committees, and anyone who helped in any way to make this singing
possible, and led 347 as the closing song. Bernard Collard offered the closing
prayer, after which the class was dismissed.
