The sixth Annual Oxford Sacred Harp Singing Day was held on the Saturday before the fourth Sunday in June.  Chairman Edwin Macadam called the class to order at 10.15 a.m. leading 155.  Bernard Collard offered the opening prayer.

RECESS

Tony Singleton called the class back to order leading 504. LUNCH

The afternoon session was brought to order with Edwin Macadam leading 350.  Leaders: Mick Verrier Sedna (own composition);  Margaret Gillanders 186; Ruth Steggles 454; Phil Tyler 111b; Rosalind Oldham 66; Tony Singleton Firm Hope (own composition). Bernard Collard conducted the memorial lesson, with Adrian Bolge reading the names of the deceased. Those remembered: Colin Isted, Bob Copper, Anna Young (earlier the same day), Win Tyler, Wendle Smith, Tina Bowen, Mary Finch, Donald Smith (AL), Wynne Cussen, Olive Anderson, and Gladys Reynolds.  Mandy Townsend led 490.

The sick and housebound were recalled by Ken Baddley. Those remembered: James Oss, Hazel Walker, Alan Fitch, Ken Robinson, Joan Stocks and Dave Swarbrick.  Sheila Girling Macadam led 45t.  The memorial was closed.

The class resumed singing with Ken Baddley leading Keysoe (own composition). Announcements were made and invitations extended to other Sacred Harp singing events around the country.  Sheila and Edwin Macadam thanked all those who had helped during the day, especially Rachel Jordan, for pitching, Bernard Collard and Ken Baddley  who served as Chaplains, Steve Fletcher and Margaret Gillanders for serving as the Arranging Committee, Tony Singleton for signage and site co-ordination and Mary Bolge for food co-ordination. Sheila Girling Macadam led 347 as the closing song, Adrian Bolge offered the closing prayer, and the class was dismissed.
