The fourth Holmfirth Sacred Harp Day was held at Choppards Mission in the
Pennine Hills above Holmfirth in Yorkshire on the last Saturday of March.
The day began with a prayer led by Helen Brown. There was then a singing
school when Carmel Wood, Simon Dumpleton and Helen Brown explained the
shape note system and the traditions of the hollow square. The class
learned with 47t, 503 and 39t. The Chairman, Cath Ingham, then called
the class to order with 127.

for the sick and housebound, Jean McDougall, Betty & Sid Dumpleton,
Stan Shaw, Joan Mattock, Joanna Keable and Mel Browne.
