The class was called to order by Ian West leading song on page 99. The morning prayer was offered by Ruth Cooper. Helen Brown then welcomed everyone to this special singing and led song on page 171.

At 11am (the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month) a 2 minute silence was observed in honour of those who gave their lives in battle for their country. Helen Brown then led song on page 36b and offered prayer for the courage of those remembered.

The Memorial Lesson was led by Helen Brown and Ruth Cooper and the song on page 318 was led in memory of the following deceased : Lesley Wragg, Mary Brown, Richard’s mum, Rosa Hughes, Karen House, Eric Winter, Ronald Nathan, Marie Bradshaw and Gillian Dutfield.

The song on page 475 was led for the following sick and housebound : Eric Conrod, Lesley Sharp, Sylvia Holt, Valerie Beardsworth, June Meakin, Andrea Ertle, Gordon Ashman and Mary Berry. 

The Memorial Lesson was closed with prayer.

RECESS

The class was called back to order by Tony Singleton leading song on page 277.

A special announcement was made by Ted Brown in honour of the following people, all of whose special birthdays were being celebrated at this singing :  Ruth Cooper, Jill Thompson, Steve Fletcher, Irene Bown (all 50), Helen Brown (40),  Rosalind Oldham (30), Hannah Cooper (18), Arwen Lockley (18) and also Anne Hilton (50) who couldn't make the singing due to the lack of trains as a result of the weather, and the Tuesday Occasionals. 

“Happy Birthday” was sung to the tune of 34b.
