The ninth United Kingdom Sacred Harp Convention was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by Chairman Ken Baddley, welcoming all those attending, and then Edwin Macadam and Sheila Girling Macadam (Past Chairs) led song on page 34b. Alan Weeks offered the opening prayer.

Rob Mahoney gave the Sick and Housebound Lesson and led 474 as we remembered Jane Weedon; Jim Singleton; Joan Stocks; Barbara Meddoms; Hazel Walker; Mary Kellaway; Stan Whiting; Mike Whiting; Donna Lock; Tracy Jameson, who lost her ex-husband and new partner in the same week; Mark Jones - give him some peace; Betty Paton; James Oss and Mary, wife and loving caregiver; Ian West mother-in-law (and for Ian and Gill).

Alan Weeks gave the Celebration Lesson and led 350 in particular for Cameron, a grandson; Steve’s new job, at last!; Joanne Hoover (Mercer Island, USA) 70th birthday, 5 Oct; Sophie & Stu McDougall’s 10th wedding anniversary; For a good harvest; Hannah’s 2:2 degree and new job Rachel Jordan then led the song on page 269.
