The 2009 Mid-Winter Singing Day was held in the Village Hall of Jordans, the Quaker Village, and burial place of William Penn. Edwin Macadam brought the class back together leading NH 186. LUNCH

The afternoon session commenced with Elspeth Hannen leading 178.  Leaders: Joseph Smeall 114; Emily Verrier 146; Shelby Sampson 358; Bob Lilley NH 22; Mick Verrier 209; Tom Gerber 38b.

Ken Baddley conducted the memorial lesson and led 163b in memory of Jack Walne, Trevor Sanderson, Ivy Hughes, Deirdre Powell, Beatrice Davies, Lily Antiope Scythia, Jane Mullenger, George Lawrence, Jane Selby, Gordon Scott, Ian Ferguson, Pamela Kinnunen, Else Marie Christensen, James Bernard Richmond (North Dakota), Paddy Broughton, Elisabeth Stern's Mum and aunt, Lorna Paterson, Rose Adelaide Baker (Lowell, Mass.), Pat Shipp, Marion Pugh, and Yvonne Blake. Elspeth and Ben Hannen gave the lesson for the sick and housebound, leading 349. The memorial was closed.

Following announcements, during which it was decided that whilst the 2010 Home Counties Winter sing would be held elsewhere around the M25, another singing during 2009 at Jordans would be welcomed. Surplus from the day's donations would be passed to the Quakers for their use. Sheila Girling Macadam and Edwin Macadam led 347 and David Chantler gave the closing prayer.
